What is Virtue?

Virtue is a pattern of thought and behavior based on integrity, purity, goodness, and selflessness. To have virtue is to make decisions with integrity in mind and to demonstrate self-control. It is to choose thoughts and actions that lift up rather than tear down and generally support the greater whole.

By practicing the pattern of virtue, individuals develop high morality and strong character.

"Virtuous traits form the foundation of a Christian life and are the outward manifestation of the inner man." (H. David Burton) What you do and think about when you are alone is a strong measure of your virtue. Each one of us has the capacity to increase in our virtue. We have the capacity to improve and be better than we were yesterday.  But does it really matter? Why is virtue important?
